16th Artwork revealed (sort of)

I’ve spent all evening scouring the net, following Twitter feeds, watching the live Ustream videos from a pair of enterprising fans (you can replay their live videos here and here), and much more, and here’s a summary of what I’ve learned about the DamonCarltonandaPolarBear event going on right now at Gallery1988.

First and foremost, the 16th art piece has been revealed, and it’s called simply “LOST” by artist Taylor Stout. It’s only been seen on-site at the event, and not online, so it hasn’t been officially unveiled yet, though one fan posted a blurry shot of it on Twitpic. We know that the URL where it will be properly shown and placed on sale is nothingsforever.com. Attendees to tonight’s event are being given free copies of this 16th poster, though they’re only being let in 70 at a time, and it’s unknown how long supplies of the poster will last.

There are dozens of other brand-new art pieces on display at the event as well, though likewise most of them haven’t made it online yet. (Here’s one of my favorites.)

Both Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse showed up at the event and signed autographs for eager fans. On one of the live videos, Damon Lindelof could be heard telling a fan that the writers are currently working on writing episode 12 of the season. Another fan asked how far into Season 6 the big answers would start coming, and Lindelof answered “in the season premiere.”

Hopefully more information will flow out of the event soon. In the meantime, all this has left me no time for anything else tonight, so there will be no Rewatching Lost on Wednesday of this week. We’ll resume on Friday.
