Comedy Central’s Reno 911! follows the trials and tribulations of the United States’ most incompetent police force ever.

Essentially a spoof or parody of reality law-enforcement television shows like Fox’s COPS, the largely improvised sitcom is set in the Washoe County Sheriff’s Department of Reno, Nevada. The actors who portray the main police personnel also notably play the perpetrators sometimes, too, with their faces distorted in true reality-TV style.

The wacky regular cast of characters includes:

• Lieutenant James “Jim” Ron Dangle (Thomas Lennon): The highest-ranking deputy, he’s a suspected homosexual and a lifelong lover of hot pants.
• Deputy James Oswaldo Garcia (Carlos Alazraqui): A meanspirited Mexican military veteran who despises other ethnicities and genders equally. He might also be gay.
• Deputy Clementine “Clemmie” Johnson (Wendi McLendon-Covey): The Reno Sheriff Department’s resident slut.
• Deputy S. “Jonesy” Jones (Cedric Yarbrough): The Reno Sheriff Department’s resident stud and occasional off-duty stripper. Nobody ever mentions what the “S” in his name stands for, although there’s a strong case to be made for “Sexy.”
• Deputy Travis Junior (Robert Ben Garant): The officer with the sunglasses and bulletproof vest worn outside his shirt is a redneck and canine trainer for the Reno police force. Despite his status as the department’s best shooter, he’s actually cross-eyed.
• Deputy Cherisha Kimball (Mary Birdsong): The newest and most competent member of the Sheriff’s Department bunch, she’s Deputy Travis Junior’s cousin, as well.
• Deputy Trudy Wiegel (Kerri Kenney-Silver): A hypochondriac suffering from various genuine psychological disorders and the officer most likely to die alone in her house with a bunch of cats.
• Deputy Raineesha Williams (Niecy Nash): The Reno Sheriff Department’s resident stereotypical loudmouthed black woman.
