Crosby Scores, Canada Wins Olympic Gold

Crosby Scores, Canada Wins Olympic Gold

It was a crazy exciting gold medal game for men’s hockey fans at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games today.  Team Canada took on Team USA and the first half of the game really seemed to be in favor of the host country but then the Americans came roaring back.

With less than 30 seconds left, Zach Parise scored for USA and tied the game.  It was crazy.  Can you imagine going to sudden death in an Olympic game?  It was amazing… More »

Hero: 108 Online Coming Soon

Hero: 108 Online Coming Soon

The cat is out of the bag! Well, it’s no secret that Moonscoop’s Hero: 108, an animated television series created by Phoenix Tarng of Gamania (yes, the online games publisher and developer), is airing on Cartoon Network in North America and the United Kingdom starting tomorrow, March 1st, 2010.

Although the animated series, loosely inspired by the 14th century Chinese novel The Water Margin, is the meat in any cartoon fan’s sandwich, video game fanatics would probably rather have news about… More »

Club Nintendo Site Just What Wii Needed

Club Nintendo Site Just What Wii Needed

For Christmas, both my kids got Nintendo DSi’s as gifts from their grandparents. Life being as it is, I just now got around to registering their portable game consoles on the Club Nintendo website. I’d already been to the site before when we received our Nintendo Wii for Christmas a few years earlier. I subscribed to the email newsletter and visit the site every now and then, but I hadn’t really dug into the features of… More »

U.S. Plastic Corp Website

U.S. Plastic Corp Website

Plastic has really changed our lives. We should use it responsibly and recycle it whenever possible, but that’s not what I’m talking about here. I’m talking about finding the right piece of plastic you need and the U.S. Plastic Corp. website should be your first stop.

You could be looking for a little plastic piece, some kind of tubing, containers, plastic bags, scientific labware and even DVD cases. If it’s plastic, this place has probably got what you’re looking for on… More »

Playstation Network is Down

Playstation Network is Down

You can breath a sigh of semi-relief and know that the Playstation Network is down for everyone…not just you.

That probably doesn’t make you feel a whole lot better but at least you can sleep soundly tonight since that person you pissed off last night during a game of COD4 had nothing to do with your issues.

Not these issues at least.

Playstation LifeStyle was the first place I saw this issue reported and now Mashable has picked it up so you know… More »

TV Guide Website Has More Than TV Listings

TV Guide Website Has More Than TV Listings

Remember when the only way to really know what was going to be on TV in advance was to get the TV Guide and thumb through it while you’re sitting on the couch? It wasn’t THAT long ago, I can remember using it and I’ve been on this planet less than four decades. A few years back TV Guide changed their magazine format a little bit and resized it as well. Now it’s a full-sized magazine… More »

Poem Flow App on the iPhone

Poem Flow App on the iPhone

Okay, I’m a dork, I know. But I’m a really big reader and I love technology plus poetry. The Poem Flow App is a totally amazing synthesis of the two and a I am super jazzed about it.

Poem Flow sends out a new poem each day, and presents it in a pared down, minimal, scrollable flow if you hold the screen upright, and if you turn it to the side, it “reads” it to you in magical lines that might… More »

SavingDinner.com Saves You Dinner Time

SavingDinner.com Saves You Dinner Time

How many times did you eat take-out, drive-thru or something other than a home-cooked meal last week. What was the biggest reason you didn’t eat a home-cooked  meal? What part of the process of cooking a meal at home gives you the most trouble? Is it the shopping for groceries that’s the biggest annoyance? Is it knowing what you can fix with what’s available? Is it the actually process of cooking the meal in your kitchen?… More »

How to Remove the Security Tool Virus

How to Remove the Security Tool Virus

I had a bit of a challenging task recently serving as alpha-geek for my extended family. My mother-in-law had gotten the Security Tool virus on her machine and it was doing a great job of keeping her from doing anything productive to remove the offending malware.

The Security Tool malware virus presents itself as a very believable and helpful application. It uses quite a bit of social engineering to make the infected computer’s owner think they should be clicking on approval… More »

Find a Good Book on Rated Reads

Find a Good Book on Rated Reads

My wife and I are really working on getting our kids to read more and more. That’s not to say they don’t already read, both of them have been reading on average 30+ minutes per day since they’ve learned how to read. The challenge we’ve found recently is finding good books that both challenge them at their reading level, as well as continue to be appropriate for them at their age. Sometimes that can be a… More »

Chargers to Trade Antonio Cromartie?

Chargers to Trade Antonio Cromartie?

The San Diego Chargers have been trying to trade cornerback Antonio Cromartie. And despite a surprising (in my opinion) lack of interest from most teams around the National Football League, it appears they have at least one interested buyer. The Detroit Lions are currently in discussions with the Bolts about acquiring Antonio.

Antonio seemed indifferent in a recent SIRIUS NFL Radio interview:
“It may be time to move on. I have complained to the coaches about certain stuff, about the way we… More »

Lewis Hamilton Best Time on Day Four

Lewis Hamilton Best Time on Day Four

The fourth day of testing on the track of Barcelona was a success for all who attended, but McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton had the fastest lap time of the day with a 1:20:472 second lap. Hamilton finally looked like he was able to get his McLaren race car up to speed and his smile was evident after the session, so he must have had a better day from his point of view. Hamilton finished about two-tenths of a second ahead of… More »
