Here I follow-up on my last post about what our lives would be like without Windows. Initial reactions would be a world full of rainbows and butterflies, but everything might not be as great as you would expect. Significant changes in developer tools: Here’s an area where I think Microsoft does good work. The amount of resources I have available to me to both use and learn Microsoft applications and developer more solutions on the Windows… More »
Ben Crane entered the final day of the Farmers Insurance Open two shots off the lead. Thanks to a pair of long birdie putts and then steady play down the stretch, Crane was able to win at 13-under. For the win, the 33-year-old from Oregon won $954,000.
A total of nine golfers were within two strokes of Crane when the tourney ended. Brandt Snedeker, Marc Leishman and Michael Sim were 12-under, while Michael Allen, Ernie Els, Alex Prugh and Rickie Fowler… More »
If you have Chris Paul on your fantasy basketball team, I have some really bad news for you. Paul will reportedly undergo arthroscopic knee surgery to repair torn cartilage and will miss at least a month. Many experts believe Paul will need closer to two months to return to an NBA court.
This is a devastating news for any fantasy team that relies on Paul. On the season, the New Orleans Hornets superstar is averaging 20.4 points, 11.2 assists and 2.26… More »
The Cincinnati Reds were looking to upgrade their offense out of the shortstop position. They were able to do just that by signing free agent shortstop Orlando Cabrera to a one-year deal. According to MLB.com, the contract is worth approximately $3 million.
Cabrera split last season with the Oakland Athletics and the Minnesota Twins. Combined, the native of Colombia hit .284 with nine homers, 77 RBIs and 83 runs. He also hit 36 doubles and racked up 13 stolen bases.

I’ve been reading an interesting article on the PC World website titled "What Would Life Be like Without Windows". I’ll admit, I’m a fan of Microsoft. Don’t jump to conclusions though, I think there are plenty of areas for them to work harder and deliver a better product to their users. Of course there’s the initial knee-jerk reaction that life would be fantastic without this giant monolithic software elephant in the room. After all, everything they… More »
In the old mall in my hometown, we had one arcade. The kind of arcade that took tokens instead of coins and as a reward, you won tickets which were then turned in for useful things such as bubblegum, glow in the dark plastic bracelets and fake snakes.
The big draw for the arcade was a Street Fighter game and I want to say it was the original Street Fighter but couldn’t be 100% sure if I did.
I was young…I’m talking… More »
The fresh February 3 episode of Leverage is called “The Future Job” and features guest star Luke Perry of 90210 fame.

Also catch a glimpse of Perry at work in the recently released sneak peek for the episode.

Since I am such a die hard PS3 fangirl, even I find my interest in Mass Effect 2 to be a bit strange.
I can’t play the game and maybe that’s why I want to SO DAMN BAD? If you listen to the die hard Mass Effect fanboys and girls, I just don’t know what I’m missing.
But I DO know what I’m missing. Really. I know! Quit telling me what an amazing game it is because I can’t play it… More »
One of my absolute favorite television events is starting next month! It’s the winter Olympics and this year they’re in Vancouver, Canada. NBC is covering the games which is fine with me because I’ve always liked Bob Costas for sports commentary. I think I may be looking forward to this years broadcast of the games more than ever because I’m going to be able to enjoy them on my AT&T U-verse television programming. U-verse has recently released… More »
Here’s a fun giveaway for any fan of Pixar and/or “Cars,” a movie loved by both kids and adults, thanks to the retro feel of it.
THE MOVIE: The CG-animated movie takes place in a world inhabited entirely by cars. Lightning McQueen (voiced by Owen Wilson) is the slick rookie taking the Piston Cup series by storm when the last race of the season ends in a three-way tie.
On the way to the tie-breaker race in California, Lightning loses his way… More »
When I found these screenshots, the first thing I thought was “these are really cool!” and then I saw it was for something called “Halo Reach” and I had no idea what the heck that was.
Apparently, if you have Halo ODST, you already have an invitation into the Beta for Reach. Who knew?
What you have to do is sit on your hands until the Fall of this year. You can check out Bungie’s site for all the details along with… More »
My son loves playing video games. We just got him a new Nintendo DSi for Christmas and he spends lots of time playing that. This weekend he was able to score an old school Nintendo from his aunt (even though I had one in the garage). My son has been engrossed with playing the old school Super Mario Bros. 3 on the original Nintendo system. He’s even gotten the full-blown experience, literally. He’s now realized that… More »
