Surprise! Tiger Won’t Be at His Own Tourney

Surprise! Tiger Won't Be at His Own Tourney

With a boatload of questions still surrounding the infamous Tiger Woods car accident, the host of this week’s Chevron World Challenge, none other than Tiger himself, is bowing out.  His reason?  Injuries sustained from his recent car accident.  The Golf Challenge reports that Woods is suffering from headaches and soreness, thus his reason for pulling out.

Without a doubt fans are going to be upset.  And why shouldn’t they be?  The No.1 golfer in the world, hosting his own event no… More »

Blogging Your Linux Experience

Blogging Your Linux Experience

Blogging does not come easy to everyone but I want to encourage other people to write about their experiences using Linux. It’s one of the things that keeps me going when it comes to using Linux. Each Linux blog reminds me that I am not alone in my experiences.

Sometimes I get ideas from other Linux bloggers to try out other applications. That’s why there are times that I have a series of guides on using… More »

Some Observations on Communities

Some Observations on Communities

How does one build communities? I haven’t had the chance to really start a community with a group of people but I’ve tried to observe some groups who have done so. By the time I know about a community, it’s been quite a while already so I didn’t see the beginnings or birthing pains. But I’ve seen some growing pains. Anyway, out of the several years of observing here are some thoughts:

It’s the common interest that… More »

Saosin Kick Off Tour in New Webisode

Saosin have just released a new Sao TV webisode that documents the band as they embark on their most recent tour. Follow the band as they make their first stop at local San Diego radio station 91X, where fans were treated to an intimate acoustic set.
Bassist Chris describes the tour:

Using Amarok with Your iPod

Using Amarok with Your iPod

Relatively new to using iPods, I basically just decided to use GtkPod with it when I got it and I haven’t really looked at other options. I knew others existed but I think that GtkPod was convenient enough for me.

BrightHub’s guide on how to use your iPod with KDE4 gives you a better idea if you are a KDE user. And this is through the use of Amarok, a media player for KDE. Amarok not only lets you… More »

Watch Suzy Kolber Interview Brady Tonight

Watch Suzy Kolber Interview Brady Tonight

I had to admit this (being a girl myself and all), but I really hate the sideline reporting that often gets done by the female sports reporters. It’s not the reporters that bug me, but the stuff they often have them do. They fill us in with “insight” like, “I talked to the coach during half time and he says we need to score more points!”

Fascinating!

But even given my stance on sideline reporting (which also applies… More »

Brett Favre: ‘My Arm Feels Great’

Brett Favre: 'My Arm Feels Great'

Eleven games into this 2009 season, most of the people who scoffed at Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre’s second unretirement would probably have expected him to be toast by this time in the season. Nothing could be further from the truth, however. Brett is not just surviving his 19th NFL season, he’s thriving. In yesterday’s 36-10 thumping of the Chicago Bears, Brett was a mere 10 yards from his career high for most passing yards in a game. He threw… More »

Barrowman Confirms Torchwood is Coming Back

John Barrowman was a guest on a BBC radio show this morning to promote his new DVD An Evening with John Barrowman. Jumping straight to the big news he said, “Most definitely, Torchwood will come back to the BBC.”

He says that the whens and hows are still being talked about but they’re looking at another 13 episode run, not 5 which is extra great news.

As for appearing with the new Doctor Who, John says it hasn’t been discussed but followed… More »

Sources Say Charlie Weis is Out

Sources Say Charlie Weis is Out

I’ve been speculating for weeks that Charlie Weis wasn’t going to survive the season at Notre Dame. The team has so much talent this year that there was no reason they shouldn’t have been BCS bowl contenders.

Today, sources are saying the the coach has been shown the door after yet another disappointing season. The team had a decent start at 6-2, but they just lost four games in a row to finish 6-6. Whether or not they’ll play in a… More »

The X Factor 2009 – Week 7 – Lloyd Deadwood Goes

The X Factor 2009 â Week 7 â Lloyd Deadwood Goes

The X Factor 2009 has finally reached the business end, with the final 12 singing live every week until one is declared the winner. Week 7 saw Rihanna and Alicia Keys sing live… barely, and Lloyd ‘Deadwood’ Daniels finally voted off the show. With Jedward going last week it means we have four strong acts for next week’s semi-final.

This week it was Take That and Elton John songs being given the cover treatments, and the classic pop nature of the… More »

German Teen Vampire Flick ‘We Are the Night’

German Teen Vampire Flick 'We Are the Night'

I picked this up over at Dread Central. It’s a another teen vampire flick called We Are the Night (Wir sind die Nacht, also being posted as The Dawn) but it has several things going for it. 1. Germans make everything awesome and intense 2. the creepy noises and fang licking tell me there’s a good chance it won’t be entirely lame and 3. the director, Dennis Gansel, has a few horror titles under his belt and that always helps.

Dread… More »
