Broyles Award Finalists Announced

Broyles Award Finalists Announced

The Broyles Award is given every year to the top assistant coach in major college football. These are people who don’t get much recognition most of the time, so I think it’s great that someone is taking a moment to award their accomplishments. The 2009 finalists are:

Charlie Strong, Florida defensive coordinator
Kirby Smart, Alabama defensive coordinator
Bryan Harsin, Boise State offensive coordinator
Jeff Quinn, Cincinnati offensive coordinator
Dick Bumpas, TCU defensive coordinator

The top winner will be announced on December 8. Last year, Kevin Wilson… More »

Grady Sizemore Nude Pictures Stolen

Grady Sizemore Nude Pictures Stolen

Grady Sizemore, the superstar outfielder for the Cleveland Indians, has nude pictures floating around the internet. According to Sizemore and his representatives, the nude pictures were stolen from his girlfriend’s email account.

The pictures, which aren’t exactly safe for work, show a nearly nude Sizemore in a number of different poses. Some of them are indeed hilarious.

Sizemore’s girlfriend is Brittany Binger, who happens to be a Playboy Playmate. If you do a Google Image search of Brittany Binger, you can see… More »

Alec Baldwin to quit acting in 2012? I doubt it

Alec Baldwin to quit acting in 2012? I doubt it

In the December issue of Men’s Journal, Alec Baldwin says he’s lost interest in acting, considers his film career a failure, and will likely quit the business by 2012. It’s interesting that he’s saying this now, with a hit TV show (“30 Rock”), a big moving coming out in a few weeks (“It’s Complicated”), and a gig co-hosting the Oscars with Steve Martin. I mean, it’s sort of a slap in the face to his… More »

Bobby Bowden to Retire on Friday

Bobby Bowden to Retire on Friday

This week has been a roller coaster ride for Florida State. First, head coach Bobby Bowden said that he needed to do some soul searching about his role at the school. The next day, he came back and told everyone that he wanted to stay. Now, sources close to the coach and school say that on Friday, he’ll announce his retirement.

There aren’t many coaches in the same class a Bobby Bowden. Joe Paterno of Penn State comes to mind immediately,… More »

Math Homework Help at EasyCalculation.com

Math Homework Help at EasyCalculation.com

I did something tonight I haven’t done in 22 years. I tried to figure out and work on Slope Intercept Equations from my old Algebra 1 days. I didn’t actually need to know the answers, I needed to remember how to explain it to a high school freshman that needed help with her own homework. The challenge with picking up this math stuff wasn’t so much the remembering how to do it myself. The challenge was… More »

Director Todd Phillips talks ‘Hangover 2’

Director Todd Phillips talks ‘Hangover 2’

I have a feeling no one was more surprised with the success of this summer’s “The Hangover” than director Todd Phillips. It’s a buddy movie that hit all the right notes with audiences. I loved it – read my review here — and so did moviegoers who launched it to a $277 million hit to become the highest-grossing R-rated comedy ever. Even while the film was shooting, director Todd Phillips was pondering a sequel. “You always have… More »

‘Raising the Bar’ Reaches the End of the Line

'Raising the Bar' Reaches the End of the Line

It’s almost time to say goodbye to the ensemble Steven Bochco legal drama Raising the Bar.

Although the sophomore original series will return this winter with three fresh episodes, TNT has already decided not to renew the entertaining yet earnest show for a third season.

As a result of that decision, which was announced on the last day of November, Raising the Bar will call it quits with the 15th episode of the current second season.

The culprit for the show’s demise is… More »

‘Iron Man 2’ Poster revealed

‘Iron Man 2’ Poster revealed

“Iron Man 2” hits theaters May 7, 2010, and Paramount and Marvel officially released the teaser poster today, showing War Machine standing next to Iron Man. While I’m skeptical that the second movie will surpass the first in any way, shape or form, the poster does look pretty cool. I’ve also heard that a teaser trailer will run in front of “Sherlock Holmes,” which arrives in theaters Dec. 25, 2009. Robert Downey, Jr. must be on some trip… More »

Find Where Kids Eat Free Tonight

Find Where Kids Eat Free Tonight

My family has become keenly aware of the best places to eat out with our family and save the most money. Tonight we were hungry for a little something out of our normal game plan and wasn’t sure what other restaurants may have some specials available where kids eat free. Tonight I found out about a new website called KidsMealDeals.com where you can enter your zip code, a mileage radius and what day of the week… More »

Louisiana Downs Alumni Shine

Louisiana Downs Alumni Shine

We had some quality horseflesh blow through Louisiana Downs this summer, and a couple did LAD proud over the weekend.

First up was Blame, the 2009 Super Derby runner-up. He was my top selection when he ran at LAD, and I thought he was just as good if not better than wire job winner Regal Ransom. The latter saved all the ground through tepid splits, while the former raced wide chasing pedestrian fractions.

Blame was clearly 2nd best… More »

Toni Collette’s character on United States of Tara has many alternate personalities, but it will take a new friendship for Tara to see how her life path could have been different.

Ben 10: Alien Swarm Arrives on DVD

If you have kids at home, you have the perfect excuse to check out Cartoon Network’s live-action feature Ben 10: Alien Swarm. Sure it was made for the tween crowd, but I won’t tell anyone if you happen to enjoy it, too.

The new movie is based on Cartoon Network’s popular animated series Ben 10 Alien Force. It’s all about a group of teens who chase down alien threats with the help of their own individual superpowers. Sixteen-year-old Ben Tennyson (Ryan… More »
