Driving Pisses People Off. Shocker!

Driving Pisses People Off. Shocker!

It’s not the first person shooters that piss people off, it’s the driving games.

That’s what Dr Simon Goodson and Sarah Pearson from Huddersfield University will be saying in their presentation tomorrow at the British Psychological Society’s Annual Conference.

There’s been other research that kinda sorta maybe showed that shooters caused aggression but those studies are a bit old and the variety of games wasn’t exactly extensive. This study used the Xbox 360, a FPS, Project Gotham Racing, and a 3D… More »

Sims 3 AI More Intelligent and Insane

Sims 3 AI More Intelligent and Insane

I haven’t been really good about reading the Sims 3 blog.

In my defense, they hadn’t been very good about updated the content so after several times of heading over there and not seeing anything new…well…you understand.

I still go over there when I get the VIP emails to see what’s up and today I was greeted with a pretty cool piece by Richard Evans, Senior AI Engineer.

I won’t post the entire piece because what’s the point when you can go over… More »

Steelers go after Arizona again

Steelers go after Arizona again

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
Will it be a replay of the Super Bowl? Probably not, the intensity would never be matched. It was, with a special emphasis on was, a pretty intense and exciting Super Bowl.

What we have here is a rematch of not immense proportions. Oddly this rematch will lack any intensity at all. After all, it will be exhibition season.
As enticing a matchup as that looks on paper, typically… More »

Fast Twitch Muscles

Fast Twitch Muscles

Oh yeah, you want fast twitch muscles.  Fast twitch muscles give you the ability to explode in your movements.  For example, fast twitch athletes are good sprinters and leapers because their muscles enable performers to generate short bursts of strength and speed very quickly.

In contrast, slow twitch muscles provide for endurance exhibited in marathon runners and cyclers.  Slow twitchers also have strength behind them but on a different wave length.  The muscle doesn’t “fire” as quickly.

I would much prefer the… More »

Dwan Dumps Greenstein, Eastgate

Dwan Dumps Greenstein, Eastgate

PokerListings recently blogged on a on a high stakes poker hand where Tom Dwan posterized Barry Greenstein and WSOP champ Peter Eastgate. The Internet sensation bluffed both off better hands in a massive family pot.

Dwan had top pair while Eastgate flopped trips and Greenstein came in with pocket aces.  Durrrr once again proved why aggressive players have an advantage by manipulating the strength of his hand in both Barry and Peter’s minds.

The hand was well described by the blogger… More »

Broncos Agree to Trade Jay Cutler

Broncos Agree to Trade Jay Cutler

It appears Denver Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler is going to get his wish to be traded.

Broncos owner Pat Bowlen released a statement today explaining the team’s plans to deal Jay to another team:

“Numerous attempts to contact Jay Cutler in the last 10 days, both by head coach Josh McDaniels and myself, have been unsuccessful. A conversation with his agent earlier today clearly communicated and confirmed to us that Jay no longer has any desire to play for the… More »

Season One of Star Trek Coming to Blu-ray

Season One of Star Trek Coming to Blu-ray

This is the news that may make me break down and get a Blu-ray player. The first season of Star Trek will be on Blu-ray April 28, full of new features and new interviews. This is the series that redefined sci-fi and became a TV/film franchise that’s still going strong today.

There’s a little Star Trek film coming out this May that you might have heard a little something about. This is seven discs, 29 episodes and really, it’s a… More »

Sony Leading Green Console War

Sony Leading Green Console War

For those of you that care where your favorite video game manufacturers fall in the Love of the Earth campaign, here’s an update. Greenpeace has released their report on which brands care and which brands could care less about Mother Earth.

According to the report, Sony wins this round on the grounds of energy efficiency. They scored 5.5 out of a possible ten. Not a glorious score, but compared to its competition, it’s winning by a longshot. Depressing when you think… More »

Bryant, Wade, and Kobe, not in that order

NBA Obsessed takes you into the hit and run game of NBA Basketball.

Who wins the MVP in the NBA this year? There are really 3 main candidates and they are not hard to figure out.
LeBron James
Dwyane Wade
Kobe Bryant
So who wins it? Kenny Smith, writing for Yahoo.com has some definite opinions.

Kenny likes DWade, because he is so exciting and has very little help. He has to do it all. Kenny eliminates DWade by insisting that he play… More »

The Caipiroska

The Caipiroska

I’m on Twitter a lot…probably more than I should be and since becoming the Spirits/Cigar writer for EveryJoe.com I’ve been seeking out alcohol companies with Twitter accounts.

A couple of days ago I found Grey Goose and followed them since I’m a big fan of their vodkas. I received a DM from them requesting that I confirm my birth date and then they followed me. So, since they showed me some Twitter love, I figured that I’d show them some… More »

Larry Johnson No Longer Wants to be Traded

Larry Johnson No Longer Wants to be Traded

Earlier in the offseason, Larry Johnson said he wanted to be traded. However, it seems as if Johnson has had a change of heart. With the Chiefs bringing in a new general manager and a new coaching staff, the former Pro Bowl running back says he’s happy in Kansas City.

Perhaps one motivation for his change of heart is due to his legal trouble. Larry Johnson pled guilty last week for his involvement in two separate incidents in Kansas City involving… More »
