One of the most-coveted players in this year’s free agent market, former New England Patriots All-Pro CB Asante Samuel, agreed to a six-year, $57 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles today. A reported $20 million is guaranteed.
Asante brings two Super Bowl rings to Philadelphia, not to mention 16 interceptions in the past two seasons. He has 22 picks in his 75-game career thus far, so he’ll certainly help an Eagles defense… More »

The Buffalo Bills added a Super Bowl XLII champion to their roster today. Former N.Y. Giants LB Kawika Mitchell signed a five-year, $17.5 million deal ($3.5 guaranteed) with the Bills today. This is a great move for Buffalo. Kawika really came into his own as a linebacker in the Giants aggressive, attacking scheme this past season. It’s not too often you see Republicans railing on about the benefits of hybrids, or benefits for eco-friendly consumers but for the THIRD TIME RUNNING, state rep. The Jacksonville Jaguars added free agent wide receiver Jerry Porter from Oakland (six years, $30 million) and traded their 6th round Draft pick (this year) for former Minnesota Vikings wideout Troy Williamson today in an attempt to boost their passing game. Half of the equation will work.
