NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
The return of the Squibster. Now the good and the bad. The good is that my most excellent boss and coworkers filled in quite nicely and that is most appreciated.
The bad is the Squibster is diagnosed with Cancer and undergoing chemotherapy. This will go on for 6 months and may limit my blogging at time to time. Fear not, they say the cancer is one that is curable, so let us… More »
I always figured the world was in for big trouble in the future, but I had no idea that our dear B5 editor Arieanna would be responsible for saving it. A mysterious package arrived at her home this week and it was, quite literally, the key to future.
Take a look:
Hmmm, what is A-117. A locker at the bus depot? A storage unit? The parking slot of a very special rent-a-car? And will Arieanna have what it takes to keep the… More »
Harvey Smith has left the building, folks.
OK.
So maybe not the building…how about just Midway Austin.
GameTap is reporting that Smith left “by mutual agreement between Harvey and the studio”.
First we had Gerstmann getting canned and now Smith is gone.
Who’s next, kiddies?
You know what they say, right?
They always come in threes.
Who’s next?… More »

Express, the Washington Post’s free read-while-riding-the-metro paper, has a nice little interview with Annabeth Gish re: her role as Eileen on Brotherhood. Here are some of the high points. Head here for the full deal.
Politics keeps showing up in your roles. Why is it so entertaining?
GISH: I think politics is extremely dramatic. Doing these roles, you realize that there are masks, certain faces you have to present to people in the public arena. It’s a negotiation of image and presentation,… More »
If you’re in the LA area, check out Elisha Cuthbert’s new movie, He Was A Quiet Man. It co-stars Christian Slater and William Macy. Here’s the official synopsis of the film:
Bob Maconel (Christian Slater, “Bobby,” “True Romance”) is about to have a bad day. Another eight hours of sitting in a dull grey cubicle, ignored by his co-workers, existing in a world where he feels completely out of sync. On this particular bad day Bob crosses the line… More »
As you all know, once in awhile I feature a guest post. This months guest is Arjun Muralidharan. He gives us his outlook on how to become a metal musician. In my opinion a real Metal musician isn’t” Made” but is born with it in his/her blood even if it’s not the first music genre they start enjoying. While I agree with most of this article, I also must disagree with some of it. As always feel free to… More »
Here’s a slightly different variation on the bad beat story: the author is the one PUTTING the bad beat on. In this particular instance, the recipient of the two beats in the story is none other than myself.
So from the mouth of Durden (who owns rights to the hand 3-5 off at our local game) here is his story:
We had been playing for like two hours and I had already been sucking out on people. (thats what I do) Then… More »

After getting a taste of a good massively multiplayer online role-playing game like China-made Perfect World in the Philippines, I’m starting to wonder what my “brothers and sisters” back in the mainland are cooking up for the neighborhood and other MMO-crazy Asian countries.
A well-placed clicks have done the trick. Aha! Apparently, the folks down in Beijing at the office of Perfect World Co. Ltd. are indeed firing up the wok in preparation for a sumptuous feast, MMO style. The company… More »

Please turn off a light people.

One of the funniest and long-running characters on Family Guy is that of Death, voiced by Adam Carolla. Here’s some information about the Grim Reaper:
Harvests the souls of the dead. Portrayed as a “loser” who still lives with his mother, has asthma and has never had a successful date. He is seen as a skeleton in a black robe and seldom removes his hood. He apparently hates the fact that he is technically dead and the fact that he has… More »

The Arctic Monkeys are without doubt, the biggest band in the UK right now. Their albums sell in huge amounts around the world, and their gigs sell out in hours, if not minutes. So it comes as a bit of a surprise to learn that they have chosen to release a single under a different name.
A band called Death Ramps have a 7″ vinyl single listed on Domino Records website (Arctic Monkeys record label) which includes the songs The Death… More »
