Podcasting the National Football League, Podcasting the NFL

The Buffalo Bills were desperate for a win. And despite an overwhelming number of injuries (especially to the defense) and a rookie quarterback at the offensive controls, they had to find a way to beat the New York Jets to get their first victory after four games. They did just that, gutting out a 17-14 win in the final seconds. Bills’ standout defensive… More »

Brett Favre Rewrites NFL History Books

Brett Favre Rewrites NFL History Books

Blogging the National Football League, Blogging the NFL

As expected, Brett Favre passed Dan Marino as the NFL’s all-time leader in touchdown passes. He threw two TDs today (numbers 421 and 422) as the Green Bay Packers beat the Minnesota Vikings 23-16 and remained undefeated at 4-0. Once again, Brett turned in gaudy numbers — 32 of 45 for 344 yards. Right now, he’s playing at an MVP level and winning games. With the NFL’s worst rushing offense, the Packers are… More »

NEW YORK JETS (1-2) @ BUFFALO BILLS (0-3)
September 30, 2007

Press Box Pregame Notes – It’s a postcard perfect day here in Western New York — sunny skies and the game time temp was just announced at 70°. While I am quite honestly tired of the winters around here, I must say — the fall weather is typically out of this world and today is a perfect example of that. The Bills are returning from two road games — two… More »

Bret Finds His Rock Of Love…

Bret Finds His Rock Of Love...

Well it’s official. Bret Michaels picked his “Rock Of Love” tonight and the winner was Jes. I kinda figured out that his last question for them about sharing him was a test and I knew that Heather being the tangent whore that she is would say yes. When she lost she just showed her true colors. That’s what you get for getting his name tattoo’d on ya, STUPID!

Will this last? Who knows? I’m eager to see the mud get slung… More »

The DMK 21AF04.AS: A Great Planetary Imager

The DMK 21AF04.AS: A Great Planetary Imager

Or at least I think it will be, I just ordered one so it better be a good one.

Based on last month’s Sky and Telescope review of the DMK 21AF04.AS…

Ok, let me pause a minute and offer that these guys please hire a marketing person to name their products. How the hell am I supposed to recommend a camera whose name I have to write on my hand to remember?

“Hey Bill, have you tried the new DMK 21AF04.AS?”
“The what?”
“Why… More »

I Got It – Halo 3

I Got It - Halo 3

I finally picked up Halo 3 on Friday night. The graphics are impressive and game play has been improved dramatically in my opinion. One area of the graphics I think is a bit below par are some of the video sequences though. The character movements seem too rigid and distorted. Appendages don’t seem to bend right, shading is off and faces appear distorted. Doesn’t bother me too much though. After I watch them the first time I’m not going to… More »

Where do they all come from?

Where do they all come from?

There is a song by the Beatles called “All the Lonely People.”  And in that song is a line that says, “All the lonely people, where do they all come from.”  Switch out ‘lonely people’ for ‘tennis players’ and ask that question again.

Where do all those professional players come from?  Where did Roger Federer come from (and all of the rest of the top-ranked players in the world)?

They didn’t come out from underneath a rock, that’s for sure! I was… More »

Shaun Livingston’s Fantasy Value

Shaun Livingston's Fantasy Value

Shaun Livingston suffered a devastating knee injury last season. (Actually, devastating would be putting it nicely. The Clippers’ team doctor called it the worst basketball related knee injury he has ever seen.)

The good news is that Livingston is back on his feet and is actually on schedule to return to the court this season. While he doesn’t have much value in a redraft format, Livingston is still one to keep an eye on in a dynasty league…. More »

It sure doesn’t feel this way the end of each month for me. Are you filthy rich too? Go find out here. Technorati Tags: wealth, money, finances, rich, poor, cash… More »

Detroit Lions Set Fourth Quarter Record

Detroit Lions Set Fourth Quarter Record

Blogging the National Football League, Blogging the NFL

It was the kind of game the Detroit Lions used to lose as they put together one of the worst six-season stretches in NFL history — with at least 10 losses from 2001-2006. Even after last week’s loss to the Eagles, I was left wondering. Are these the same-old Lions? And after the first three quarters of today’s 37-27 win over the Chicago Bears, I was left wondering. Are these the same old… More »

Coincidental Bad Timing

Coincidental Bad Timing

I always liked having a player’s last name on the back of their jersey, in this case I can understand if these player’s would tend to disagree with me. Received that one forwarded from a friend and thought it was pretty funny. My first thought was that the picture had been Photoshopped, but I checked out the WVU Mountaineers roster and sure enough: #92 – Johnny Dingle – DE from Miami, FL #93 – Scooter Berry… More »
