All the best to you and whoever’s important in your life.
Thanks for reading, visiting, commenting and talking about Common Sense PR.
I’m working on more business communications insights – and hopefully some fun – as we head into 2007.
To all the media, PR, marketing, technology and business bloggers out there, thanks for sharing your ideas, your passion and your time.
Just a few of my regular reads (sorry, I know I’m missing lots of favourites): Allan Jenkins, Andrea Weckerle, Colin McKay, Trevor… More »
Ok I know he’s supposed to be good, so good that if he declares for the 2007 draft Greg Oden will be a lock for the number one overall pick. He’s a David Robinson type player who can do it both offensively and defensively. I have no problem with that. My problem is how people seem to expect that he will indeed declare for the upcoming draft.
An article I read a few days back prompted me to rant about… More »
Welcome to 2007 dear readers!
Back here in Asia, 2007 is greeted with an uber slow Internet connection from the recent earthquakes, to the point that it takes well over 3 minutes to load a WordPress blog. I wanted to post some links of “Cellphone9 back in ’06″ but my Internet connection won’t allow me to. It’s worse than dial up!
Nonetheless, this setback is obviously temporary and we will be back to regularly scheduled posting soon – not like you’re reading… More »
So, you’ve finally convinced your spouse that this is the year to get you a telescope. As you ran downstairs in your footie pajamas early this Christmas morn, there it was.
Your new telescope.
‘Oh thank you Santa!’, you cried as you opened the box and looked inside. There you found all sorts of goodies you’ve wanted for as long as you can remember. You’ve eagerly read the manuals, and set up your telescope. You’re all dressed… More »
Over the Christmas break I was reading some comments about Seagate CEO Bill Watkins’ decision to send a note apologizing to any employees offended by his published off-hand comment about the company storage devices allowing people to store porn on their computers.
Anil Dash suggests that Watkins will be loathe to make jokes with bloggers or reporters in the future. But Matthew Ingram disagrees: “What’s more likely is that the Seagate CEO feels completely comfortable with what he said,… More »
I belong ot a group of people who have set a very high bar: the b5media bloggers. From the beginning, they have welcomed and encouraged some nobody off the street (that’s me), that he could do this blogging thing. Thanks so much to all of you. I’ll do everything I can to try and keep up!… More »

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
The Big Tuna, Bill Parcells, was thinking retirement or at least being done with the Cowboys. With Drew Bledsoe as the quarterback, the offense was just not crisp. Coach Parcells took the leap and put in Tony Romo as his quarterback. The whole team seemed to get a lift.
Dallas needs this last game against the pathetic Lions. If they lose, Jeff Garcia and the Eagles win… More »
The Melt Café and Gelato Bar strategy is a simple one – provide the customer with a special purchase experience, by offering a quality product and unique marketing. The product? According to the company, Melt Café serves traditional gelato, as well as a host of other delicious products. Gelato’s intense flavors and creamy texture come… More »
According to the most recent U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Survey of Fishing, Hunting and Wildlife Associated Recreation, 52 million people participate in birdfeeding and wildlife watching in their own backyards.
And they spend money plenty to support their hobby. The most recent statistics for consumer spending show people spend nearly $4.7 billion annually on birdfeeding and watching wildlife. Of that, they spend $3.2 billion on birdseed and wildlife food, $832 million on birdfeeders, birdbaths and nesting boxes, and $636… More »
You never really think about someone with a career 142-157 record and a 4.83 ERA as a Hall of Fame candidate, but apparently Bobby Witt is on this year’s ballot. Witt was selected third overall in the 1985 draft by the Texas Rangers and pitched for seven teams over the span of 16 years.
My main recollection of Witt is his second big-league start, in April 1986. Witt, pitching for the Rangers, had a no-hitter through five innings against the Brewers… More »

Don’t open any email with attachments in emails that say “Happy New Year!” They just may contain an email virus worm: Luder-A or Tibs.jy, according to F-Secure, a computer security firm.
